This SEC duel will be a physical battle! Alabama does’t take one on the chin very often and their defense gave up 52 points in a loss to Tennessee last Saturday. That was the most points the Crimson Tide has EVER allowed under Coach Saban. You can guarantee he will have his guys READY to roll this week in a rebound game. To that point, in Alabama’s last 6 overall losses, the Under has hit in all 6 games. Count on them showing up again. Alabama’s defense is ranked 19th in the country in opponent points/game. Mississippi State is coming off a big loss where they only managed 17 points against Kentucky and their QB Will Rogers didn’t put up his usual stats. He’ll face a similar challenge this weekend.

On the other side of the ball the Bulldogs also rep a good defensive squad as they give up just 21.9 points/game. Historic trends between these schools don’t feature much offense. The Under is 17-4-1 in the last 22 meetings. In their last 10 matchups the average total points/game is just 43.1. Oddsmakers have this one aimed at a shootout, but we see it differently. It would take a lot of big plays to hit that number. These defenses will come ready.
