Bowl season is upon us and we have our first free play as value pops in the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl! The Florida Gators are 7.5-point underdogs and oddsmakers have the O/U at 53 points. What’s the smart play? Look for a lot of points to be scored today.

While both offenses can score (ranking in the top 43 in the country), the key here is Florida’s lack of defense. They are ranked 91st in the country allowing 28.8PPG and will be missing their top linebacker Ventrell Miller. They recently gave up 31 to Vanderbilt who is ranked dead last in the
SEC. We expect Oregon State to easily score 30-40 points today and Florida should be able to score a couple touchdowns. A line of 53 points would have hit the over at an 80% rate in Gators games this year. Key point: Public bettors may overreact to the fact that the Gators starting QB Anthony Richardson is out as he preps for the draft. However, they have Jack Miller III ready to roll. He’s a talented kid who sat behind CJ Stroud at OSU. He’s been prepping for weeks and this is his opportunity to make a name for himself. He’ll make some plays. This game is going to
be played in ideal conditions indoors at Allegiant Stadium so the offensive playmakers will come ready. One thing about bowl games: offensive coordinators only have this one game left to showcase and get a W. Thus, they will pull out all the stops, potential trick plays, and often go for it on 4th downs when they maybe wouldn’t in the regular season. We lock in here.
